Our Story

At Dubbo Dentistry, we are here to educate, motivate and inspire you to gain and retain control over your dental health. We are dedicated to a thorough dental care approach that focuses on promoting health, rather than just treating the disease.

Dr Shanli first started working in Dubbo in 2015 and has obtained a broad range of local experience working in private practice, the non-for-profit division and in academic teaching within Dubbo. She set about on a tree change in 2015 and found immense reward in country practice. Inspired to create a practice that whole-heartedly encompassed all her professional values she established Dubbo Dentistry. Today, Dubbo Dentistry is an impressive facility with a tight team focused on providing a personal touch to your experience.

Our patients are the most important asset to our practice and we strive to develop relationships with our patients that will keep them coming back for years. We welcome and appreciate your referrals. We look forward to caring for you in our practice soon.

Nowadays amazing advancements in dental technology can certainly offer our patients with contemporary and precise solutions to conventional dental issues. Our practice has selected the latest and most reputable equipment to provide care to our patients ensuring the most accurate and safe methods are applied.

The motivating force behind advances in dental technology is to provide up to date treatments that can be administered in an effective, efficient, and comfortable approach. The latest technologies help impede, detect, or diagnose and treat various dental diseases and oral conditions more effectively and earlier on.

Some of the modern technologies in our practice include:

Digital X-rays

We offer the benefits of digital x-rays for greater diagnostic detail and accuracy. Digital x-rays relay images to a computer, where it is available for instant viewing. The procedure is much faster than processing traditional x-rays. The digital images on the computer are stored and can be compared with previous or future images to see how your dental health is being maintained. Because the technology is more sensitive, the radiation dose to you is significantly lower compared to traditional x-rays.

Intraoral digital camera

As part of the treatment an intraoral digital camera is used to produce precise photographs of the teeth as well as the surrounding oral structures. The small camera with built-in light source and zooming capabilities allows patient to obtain an exact view of their mouth to make fact-based decisions. The technology also allows better communication between dental professionals when managing complex treatments.

Steam Steriliser

We have installed the latest model of steriliser to guarantee a precise cycle with electronic documentation of the sterilisation protocol. The integrated USB port means that details of the cycles are saved on the 8 GB drive automatically. Record keeping for sterilisation cycles is an essential component of modern hygiene processes. This means greater security of the link between the sterilisation cycle and the patient file. Our staff are able to monitor the steriliser with a smartphone or tablet in real time from anywhere in the practice.

Specialised Dental Software

The ability to store all patient records within specialised software provides a clean, clutter-free atmosphere. All the critical information needed for your appointment such as x-rays, medical history and other information is legible, clear, and found in individually created files.

A computerised system is ideal for hygiene reasons, eliminating the shuffle of charts, x-rays, x-ray mounts, and many other records between staff. Digital photos and x-rays are directly stored into individual patient files for safe record-keeping.

Payment for dental services and claiming is much faster than with the traditional printing, stamping, and mailing of claims thanks to continual software updates.

Dental Handpiece

Utilising the latest handpieces made in Australia offers great comfort for our patients. The advantages of the high-end handpieces during placement of your fillings is that they are especially quiet, extra small, more lightweight, offer excellent LED lighting and have a hygienic head system.

Rotary Endodontics

The application of rotary instrumentation in our practice makes use of a convenient electrical hand piece to make the process of endodontics much faster and more comfortable. This specialised technology produces more reliable results, a faster, quieter and smoother procedure for the patient.

Australian Made Workmanship

Our allegiance to use only Australian laboratories guarantees that all the work we perform is custom made for you in high grade dental labs in NSW. This laboratory work can include crowns, onlays, bridges, veneers, implants, dentures or mouthguards. To ensure that we comply with Australian TGA safety standards we do not outsource any work overseas. In selecting the laboratories we associate with Dr Shanli has carefully selected the most diligent dental technicians in the industry. This partnership ensures we continue our excellent workmanship.

We care about our environment and are proud to be a green health care business.

The green health care model is based on the understanding that human and environmental health are inextricably linked. By focusing more on prevention, precaution, education, and wellness, we can significantly contribute to improving the health of our patients, the community, and the environment.

The concept of green health care encompasses green building and design and the delivery of services using technologies, procedures and materials that promote patient and planetary health.

At Dubbo Dentistry we continuously rethink decisions about our practice and choose environmentally sound options where possible. It turns out that many of the innovations on the leading edge of dental technology are also better for patients and the planet. We incorporate hightech innovations that enhance efficiency and effectiveness while reducing the amount of waste and pollution in the environment.

Our efforts include:

investing in an amalgam separator to prevent heavy metals going into our local waste water system
installing steam sterilisation units to eliminate chemical sterilisation vapours and hazardous waste into the water supply
switching from traditional radiography to digital imaging. Digital x-rays produce less radiation and offer better diagnostic detail plus reduce harmful chemicals such as lead and silver being released into the environment
incorporating a paperless system which improves efficiencies and is more friendly to the environment through digital patient communication
using low energy LED lighting and energy-efficient fluorescent lights
paint selections that contain low Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC)
using neutral disinfectants and cleaners
